With its purchase of the 29,500-acre Roach Ponds tract in Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) has played a key role in the completion of a 63-mile-long corridor of conservation land open to public recreational use. The corridor stretches from AMC’s Katahdin Iron Works property near Greenville north to Baxter State Park. This exciting project is the largest investment in conservation and recreation in AMC’s 133-year history. read more
